...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR
THE ISLAND OF HAWAII IN HAWAII COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.

* WHEN...Until 645 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 323 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain continuing over the
upper North Hilo and South Hilo Districts. Rain has been
falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour over a portion of
the Saddle Road between Kaumana and the Mauna Kea Access
Road. Heavy rainfall should end by sunset.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hilo, Pohakuloa Camp, Pohakuloa Training Area, Volcano,
Glenwood, Mountain View and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

persists.
