...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
counties, San Luis Obispo as well as Central and Northern Santa
Barbara.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Shallow rockslides and mudslides.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 201 PM PST, Doppler radar and rain gauges indicated
rainfall intensities increasing, as bands of moderate to
heavy showers enter the region from the Pacific coastal
waters. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area through 500 PM PST. This additional rain will
result in minor flooding, along with shallow rockslides and
mudslides.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Lompoc, Paso Robles, Morro Bay,
Pismo Beach, Atascadero, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo, Cambria,
Vandenberg Space Force Base, Orcutt, Los Alamos, Cuyama,
Point Piedras Blancas, Grover Beach, Guadalupe, Sisquoc, Lake
Lopez and Black Mountain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
