...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE
ISLAND OF HAWAII IN HAWAII COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 446 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over portions of
the North Kona, South Kohala, North Kohala and Hamakua
Districts. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per
hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kailua-Kona, Waikoloa Village, Kapaau, Honokaa, Puuanahulu,
Puako, Kamuela, Kawaihae, Kohala Ranch, Pohakuloa Training
Area, Waipio Valley, Waimanu Valley, Kukuihaele, Pololu
Valley, Kalaoa, Holualoa, Halaula, Honalo, Hawi and Kahaluu-
Keauhou.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 600 AM HST Tuesday for the
State of Hawaii.
