...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT FRIDAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING HAS EXPIRED...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Coastal
Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 1 AM EDT Friday.

* Location...Along both sides of the Lower Cape Fear River from
downtown Wilmington southward to Southport.

* Coastal Flooding...Residual tidal river flooding will continue for
a portion of this afternoon for locations along the lower Cape Fear
River. Flooding will subside during low tide late this afternoon
and this evening, however flooding will redevelop late this
evening with the next high tide.

* Timing...High tide will occur tonight around 1215 AM.

* Impacts...Portions of Battleship Road and USS North Carolina Road
will be covered with water up to nine inches deep. One block of
Water Street will be covered with water five inches deep. Water
levels at the downtown river gauge should reach 5.9 feet MLLW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will
combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
