...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Coastal
Flood Watch, which is in effect from Friday morning through
Saturday evening.

* LOCATION...Portions of the Northern Neck adjacent to the
Chesapeake Bay, tidal Potomac and Rappahannock River.

* TIMING...For the coastal flood advisory any flooding will be
within a few hours either of high tide this afternoon. For the
coastal flood watch, any flooding will be within a few hours
either side of each high tide beginning Friday Mid-morning
through Saturday Afternoon.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the
most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline
resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one
foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable
areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking
lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience
shallow flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings...and take action to
protect property.
