CENTRAL LAKE AND NORTHWESTERN ORANGE COUNTIES...
At 1049 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Mount Dora
and Tavares, moving east to southeast at 15 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Apopka, Eustis, Tavares, Mount Dora and Mount Plymouth.
Funnel clouds can occasionally touch down and produce brief small
tornadoes. Move indoors and stay away from windows.
If you are on or near lakes in this area, get out of the water and
move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out
to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
