LATE TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of north central Georgia...
northwest Georgia and west central Georgia...including the
following areas...in north central Georgia...Cherokee...
Clayton...Cobb...Dawson...DeKalb...Douglas...Fannin...
Fayette...Forsyth...Gilmer...Gwinnett...North Fulton...Pickens
and South Fulton. In northwest Georgia...Bartow...Carroll...
Catoosa...Chattooga...Dade...Floyd...Gordon...Haralson...
Murray...Paulding...Polk...Walker and Whitfield. In west
central Georgia...Coweta...Harris...Heard...Meriwether and
Troup.

* From 8 AM EDT this morning through late tonight

* Recent heavy rainfall has resulted in very wet and in some
cases, saturated soil, especially in the metropolitan areas. Additional
rains are expected through today as a stalled front continues
to linger across portions of north central Georgia. Any rainfall
over 1 to 2 inches will likely lead to flash flooding in this
area.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
