...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL PUSH IN FROM THE WEST
IMPACTING PORTIONS OF WATAUGA AND ASHE COUNTIES IN THE NEXT HOUR...

At 544 PM EDT, radar indicated a line of thunderstorms were located
from near Bristol Va to 9 miles east of Banner Hill. Movement was
east at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and very heavy rainfall are possible with
the stronger storms.

Locations impacted include...
Boone...
Jefferson...
West Jefferson...
Blowing Rock...
and Beech Mountain.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information, including possible warnings from the National Weather
Service.
