...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM HST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County...

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 748 PM HST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued
to indicate moderate to locally heavy rain over the South Hilo,
Puna, and Ka'u districts. Though the thunderstorms have weakened
in the area and stream gauges plateaued, minor flooding may still
persist for the next several hours. Rain was falling at a rate of
0.5 to 1 inch per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Volcano, Glenwood, Mountain View,
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidlands
Estates, Keaau, Pahoa and Wood Valley.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.
