The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Utah...

* Until 130 PM MDT.

* At 1107 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. The North Fork Virgin River
near Springdale has spiked, indicating a flood wave may be
progressing down the Virgin River with impacts along SR-9
expected over the next 1-2 hours.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Water Canyon into the Hildale area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
