...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IS CANCELLED...

...EXTREME HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...A dangerous combination of oppressively humid and hot
conditions with heat index values between 103 to 115 expected, with
the highest values on Monday.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Illinois, east
central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Little relief will occur tonight with low
temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
