The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
The Cottonwood Burn Scar in Beaver County in...
East Central Beaver County in southern Utah...

* Until 700 PM MDT.

* At 355 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain at the mouth of Beaver Canyon, and the storm
is moving up Beaver Canyon into the Cottonwood Burn Scar now. Up
to 0.25 inches of rain have fallen in the lower canyon. Additional
rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned
area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Rainfall has not yet moved into the south fork of North Creek.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the Beaver River. The debris flow can consist of
rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood
Burn Scar in Beaver County...at this time,
specifically for the Beaver River

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and
ditches in the Cottonwood Burn Scar in Beaver County. Severe debris
flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may
be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to
safety.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
