...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is occurring.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery.
* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are
elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or
is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 852 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flooding in
the advisory area. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, Meadville, Pike Road,
Coosada, Pinedale, Snowdoun, Hyundai Motors Of Alabama,
Alabama State University, Eastdale Mall, Alabama State
Capitol, Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, Woodcrest, Gunter Air
Force Base, Lagoon Park, Montgomery Zoo, Boylston, Maxwell
Air Force Base and Hunter.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
