Northwestern Elkhart County in north central Indiana...
Northeastern St. Joseph County in north central Indiana...
Cass County in southwestern Michigan...
Southeastern Berrien County in southwestern Michigan...
* Until 1045 PM EDT.
* At 1000 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Berrien Springs to near Roseland, moving
northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include...
South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Niles, Dowagiac, Buchanan, Simonton
Lake, Granger, Berrien Springs, Cassopolis, Bristol, Edwardsburg,
Marcellus, Roseland, Union, Bertrand, Pokagon, Penn, Eau Claire,
and Vandalia.
This includes Interstate 80 in Indiana between mile markers 72 and
101.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for north central
Indiana...and southwestern Michigan.
