The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Wasatch County in northern Utah...
Central Utah County in northern Utah...

* Until 330 PM MDT.

* At 258 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Draper to 17 miles east of Mapleton, moving
northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Provo, Heber City, Orem, Spanish Fork, Springville, Heber, Lindon,
Mapleton, Daniel, Brigham Young University, Wasatch Mountain State
Park, Timber Lakes, Palmyra, Utah Lake, Big Cottonwood Canyon,
Midway, Charleston, Wallsburg, Strawberry Reservoir, and Sundance.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 15 between mile markers 257 and 270.
US Route 6 between mile markers 174 and 194.
US Route 40 between mile markers 8 and 50.
US Route 89 between mile markers 309 and 312.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near Utah Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
