...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL BREVARD AND EAST
CENTRAL VOLUSIA COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...
At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Oak Hill, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Oak Hill, Haulover Canal, Mims, Scottsmoor, and Bethune Beach.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Seek
safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a
thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!
