...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Very cold temperatures near zero to 5 below zero. Isolated
colder readings possible in sheltered valleys.

* WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. Very cold temperatures can lead
to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
