...EXTREME COLD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 to 45 below, with
a few spots to 50 below expected this morning. Daytime wind chills
today will be around 25 to 30 below before dropping again to 30 to
40 below again tonight into Saturday morning.

* WHERE...Marathon, Portage, Wood, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida, Vilas,
Florence, and Forest Counties.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go
outside.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.
