SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below expected.
* WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central
Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and
northeast Missouri.
* WHEN...From 6 PM Saturday to noon CST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills 20 to 30 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 to 30
minutes. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged
exposure.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly.
