MECKLENBURG AND GASTON COUNTIES THROUGH 930 PM EDT...
At 835 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 11 miles southeast of Lincolnton to 5 miles
west of Gastonia. Movement was east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Gastonia, Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, Central Charlotte,
Northeast Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northwest
Charlotte, Mt Holly, and Belmont.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
