...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL CATAWBA AND CENTRAL
IREDELL COUNTIES THROUGH 515 PM EDT...
At 451 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles southwest of Statesville, or near Catawba, moving northeast at
25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Statesville, Catawba, Lookout Shoals Lake, and Scotts.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
