...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU
KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI AND NORTH FACING SHORES OF MAUI...
.A long-period northwest (305-325 degrees) swell will rapidly build
down the island chain today, peak this evening through early Monday,
then gradually ease Tuesday through midweek. Surf heights will near
warning levels through its peak, and could reach these levels if the
swell ends up coming in larger than predicted. An advisory may be
needed for exposed west facing shores of the Big Island tonight
through Monday.

* WHAT...Surf of 18 to 24 feet along north facing shores and 14 to
18 feet along west facing shores.
* WHERE...North and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu,
Molokai, and north facing shores of Maui.
* WHEN...Through 6 PM HST Monday. Surf will rapidly build through
the day, peak this evening through early Monday, then lower below
warning levels Monday night into Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...High. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful
currents.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go
out. Stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts.
