...Wintry Conditions Developing Tonight...

Cold air will quickly move in behind a passing cold front and
switch rain over to wet snow. The snow may become heavy at times
and accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces. Most areas will
receive 2 inches or less of snow by Thursday morning. However,
there will be a chance of higher snowfall amounts of 2 to 4
inches southeast of a line from Mount Pleasant Iowa, to Rock
Island Illinois, and to Princeton Illinois. Strong winds gusting
up to 50 MPH combining with the falling snow may produce severely
reduced visibility or even near white out conditions especially in
rural and open areas. Much of the snow will melt on the mild
pavement, but there may be slush in spots and localized slick
spots lingering into Thursday morning, especially on bridges and
overpasses.
