EXTREME FIRE DANGER FOR EASTERN IOWA, NORTHWEST AND WESTERN
ILLINOIS, AND FAR NORTHEAST MISSOURI...
The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Red Flag
Warning for extreme fire danger which is in effect until 6 PM CDT
this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll, Whiteside,
Scotland, Clark, Rock Island, Henry IL, Bureau, Putnam, Mercer,
Henderson, Warren, Hancock, McDonough, Buchanan, Delaware,
Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar,
Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk, Washington, Louisa,
Jefferson, Henry IA, Des Moines, Van Buren and Lee.
* TIMING...Until 6 PM CDT this evening.
* WINDS...South 25 to 30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 40 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Up to 85.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
