...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 511 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over east and
southeast slopes of Haleakala. Rain was falling at a rate of
up to 2 inches per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Nahiku, Keanae, Kipahulu, Hana, Kaupo, Huelo, Makawao, Haiku-
Pauwela, Pauwela, Paia, Wailua, Haleakala National Park,
Kailua, Hamoa and Hookipa Beach Park.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
